I'm a doctoral student in computer vision and machine learning at Simion Stoilow Institute of Mathematics at the Romanian Academy since October 2015 under the supervision of prof. Cristian Sminchisescu. Prior to my PhD, I obtained an M.Sc. in Advanced Computing from the Faculty of Engineering, Imperial College London. I received the "Open Horizons" Scholarship for my M.Sc. studies. I also did a research internship at Bioinformatics Institute A*Star, Singapore on machine learning under the supervision of Cheng Li.
My primary focus was on the problem of visual human sensing from RGB data. Particularly, I investigated the problems of human segmentation, body part labeling 2d/3d pose estimation and photorealistic human appearance transfer/generation. This line of research has so far resulted in the following publications:
Besides doing research, I have also been a reviewer at top-tier conferences such as CVPR, ECCV, ACCV, ICCV and NIPS. I won outstanding reviewer award at ICCV 2017 and CVPR 2018. I was one of the organizers of the ECCV 2018 workshop challenge Posetrack: 3D Human Pose Estimation Challenge.
